Why this venue?

Greylock WORKS is architecturally stunning with industrial loft scale, ample light, and original details. Led by Karla Rothstein and Sal Perry of LATENT Productions, a vibrant mix of food production and innovation, hospitality and cultural uses re-energizes this campus and contributes to the growing economic strength of the Berkshire community.

Its history dates back to the 1800s, getting updated from wooden structures to granite and brick, and expanding to include a four-story cotton spinning building, one-story Weave Sheds as well as Carding and Picker Rooms by the middle of the 20th century.

“For me it was an affinity for the look and feel of Greylock Works…it’s respect and visual honoring of a different time. Not unlike how I hope Brooklyn General feels when you first step in the door. When I first set eyes on the Weave Shed, many years ago, while visiting family in Williamstown, I knew it would become an important place for me. ” - Catherine

“I was raised, went to the schools, and worked in the northern Berkshires as a teen and young adult, with many of my family and friends still there.  With such a deep history of living in this region, Greylock Works embodies my early heritage with the region.  My home is full of old gear patterns and bobbins used in the local mills of North Adams, my grandmother worked til she retired in this old industrial city, and all of my first jobs were there.  When I walk through the spacious, bright Weave Shed and the Greylock Works’ campus, I’m young again. I can visualize my connections, the history is vivid and it is the perfect space to embody the work that Catherine and I can bring to this region as educators, makers and farmers.” - Tammy
